We are deeply saddened by the devastating fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, which began on
26 November 2025 and has brought severe injury, loss of life, and immense distress to many
families. Whether the emergency operations are still ongoing or have just come to an end by
the time you read this, the impact on the affected community remains profound.

Our hearts go out to everyone touched by this tragedy. We are mindful that some of our
members, their relatives, and members of the early childhood community live in this area and
may have been directly affected.

In this difficult time, we hope to stand together in compassion and solidarity, extending care
and practical support to those facing hardship and loss. The courage and dedication of the
firefighters, rescue personnel, and frontline teams—who have worked under extremely
challenging conditions—remind us of the strength and resilience within our community.

As an organisation committed to the wellbeing of children, families, and educators, OMEP
Hong Kong holds in care every person impacted by this tragedy. May we continue to support
one another with empathy, patience, and kindness in the days and weeks ahead.
